Mr. Alfred Peoples Mr. Al Peoples has been a longtime member of Florida Credit Union and has served on a variety of FCU board committees. Mr. Peoples received his BS degree from Florida A&M University, his MA degree from the University of Florida, and his ED specialist degree from Nova University. He worked in the Alachua County school system for 37 years before retiring. Mr. Peoples has served on the Finance Committee and Trustee Board at Greater Bethel AME Church, as Treasurer for the ACREA, as State Treasurer for the Driver Education Association, and he oversaw the budget of his church building project. In 1999, Mr. Peoples was selected as State Driver Education Teacher of the Year. In 2010 he served as President of Duval Arts Council and is a past recipient of the Volunteer of the Year Award from the ACREA. He has also participated in two Gainesville Leadership programs, and recently graduated from the CUNA Volunteer Achievement Program. He currently serves as Board Chair. Mr. Lynn P. Jones, Sr. Mr. Lynn P. Jones, Sr. has been involved in the Alachua County public school system for more than 39 years. He received a B.S. in Physical Education, Biology and Health from Bethune-Cookman College, and his Masters in Administration and Supervision from Florida A & M University. In addition, he received his Educational Specialist degree from the University of Florida. Mr. Jones started his career in the United States Army as a Communication Sergeant. After completing his duties in the service, Mr. Jones joined the Alachua County Public School System. He taught Health, Physical Education, and coached basketball, football, and swimming for 4 years. He then became the Dean of Students, Assistant Principal, and Interim Principal, which he held for thirty-five years in Alachua County Public School System. Mr. Jones is a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church where he sings in the Unite Choir and the Male Chorus. He is also a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Today, Mr. Lynn P. Jones, Sr. is retired from the Alachua County Public School system, yet remains heavily involved in the community. He has served on the Florida Credit Union Board of Director’s Audit Committee, Nominating Committee, and is Chair of the Scholarship Committee. He currently serves on the Florida Credit Union Board of Directors as Vice Chair.
